About the Artist

I have had art in my heart all of my life, but when I retired from the University of California I was able to claim art as my life’s work.  I experimented and moved from medium to medium beginning with watercolor and ending where I am now:  acrylic and mixed media.

There are not sufficient words to describe my excitement in finding mixed media.  It provides so much opportunity to play on paper or canvas and using acrylic paint, charcoal, fabric, metal, and whatever else I can get my hands on.

I love creating figurative art and enjoy pushing myself to become more abstract.  Recently I have started creating abstract non-figurative pieces from landscapes and cityscapes or from the recesses of my mind.  It is hard going, but it is very gratifying when it works.

I am fortunate to have had my art accepted into many juried shows throughout California and to have been given various awards from Best of Show to Honorable Mention. I have also had the honor of exhibiting in a three-woman show in Ashland Oregon. I am pleased to know that my art lives in homes throughout the west coast as far north as Alaska.
